Product Specialist

Do you like a challenge? Are you an ambitious person that sets goals and takes personal pride when achieving them? If you are task orientated, accurate, detail oriented, and thrive talking on the phone to customers we would love to talk to you about our opportunity.Vulcan is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Product Specialist.Duties of our Product Specialist:

  • Manages existing customers and grows our presence within the POP and Industrial business channels
  • Continuously seeks new prospects through cold calling techniques working to increase our customer base
  • Establishes, develops and maintains positive business and customer relationships
  • Directly assists customers providing detailed product options and features, quotes, delivery dates, and solutions for their production and business needs
  • Researches product lines of product lines that are assigned as compared to the competitor in all aspects of the product cycle
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with other departments within the organization during quote stage to ensure compliance and that customer expectations can be met or exceeded
  • Participates in monthly sales meetings discussing on how to maintain and grow the business
  • Travels to and attends trade shows
  • Recommends new approaches and practices to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed

Qualifications:

  • Sales experience in a manufacturing / production environment needed
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area and circumference
  • Highly motivated and driven to prospect and develop new accounts
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and written specifications
  • Strong self-management skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and changing deadlines
  • Must have solid negotiation skills and the ability to close deals
  • Must have basic manufacturing knowledge
  • Must have excellent listening, communication and customer relationship skills

Parts Marshall

Our Parts Marshal is a detail oriented individual who is able to work with general supervision, and be able to multi-task as needed. The ideal candidate has a good work ethic, is reliable and punctual and displays a willingness to learn. They will work independently to support the coiling and assembly departments by coordinating flow of work-in-process and finished goods within the factory. They will manage the flow of parts through stress relief ovens and coating of parts post stress relief.

Prior experience in a manufacturing and production environment is preferred, however we are willing to train motivated individuals.

Duties of our Parts Marshall:

  • Reads Production floor travelers and movement tags to determine what further processing is required and where items are to be move.
  • Loads parts requiring stress-relief in overs according to traveler or movement tag information.
  • Applies oil or silicone coating to parts as required.
  • Boxes and palletizes work-in-process and finished goods as required.
  • Updates traveler or movement tags to indicate completion of stress-relief and/or coating operations.
  • Reports any product quality issues or concerns to the quality control department.
  • Always ensures product traceability by marking materials with identifying information.
  • Uses computer as required to enter records.
  • Drives fork lift to transport materials within factory.
  • Other projects and duties as required/assigned.
  • Follows Company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 3 months related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Must have excellent listening skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and have strong people skills
  • Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.

Secondary Assembly Operator

Our Secondary Assembly Operators are detail oriented, are able to work with general supervision, be able to follow directions and have strong hand dexterity. The ideal candidate has a good work ethic, is reliable and punctual and displays a willingness to learn. Prior experience in a manufacturing and assembly line environment is preferred, however we are willing to train motivated individuals.

Duties of our Secondary Assembly Operator:

  • Bends, forms, or assembles products to specifications as required using manual and automatic equipment such as winders, kick presses, punch presses, spot welders, pneumatic formers, etc.
  • Interprets drawings, specification sheets, routers, and other related documentation to determine all product requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand basic work instructions
  • Performs in-process inspections on work to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Ensures proper identification of work in process and finished goods.
  • Ensures proper identification and segregation of non-conforming and scrap product.
  • Reports wear and improper adjustment on tools and equipment to supervisor.
  • Reports safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Cleans work area.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Other projects and duties as required/assigned.
  • Follows Company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 3 months related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to add and subtract numbers
  • Able to read and comprehend instructions
  • Experienced in using measuring tools including but not limited to calipers, dial indicators, load testers, scales, etc.
  • Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
